1976? Panasonic WV-2100 Two Tube Studio Color Camera.
.
Vintage: 1976? Two tube studio color camera. The lens is an f 2. 0, 18 mm - 105 mm, (roughly) 6 to 1 zoom. This lens also uses special flexy cables and rear mounted controls which are not shown at this time. This camera head has a built in 4 inch B/W CRT viewfinder. There is a separate CCU (Camera Control Unit) which is also not shown at this time.
The pick up tubes are vidicons. One vidicon generates a luminance (B/W) signal. The other is a striped target vidicon using a frequency separation system to dissect color. Various lighting conditions and manual color balance can be accommodated with the controls on the CCU. The CCU also allows the camera to be synchronized with the studio reference signal allowing multi camera switching and effects. This camera is one of a pair that LabGuy's World obtained recently along with all the cables, pedestal heads, CCU's and a video switcher / SEG (Special Effects Generator). Time and space have not allowed me to set this all up, examine and photograph it. ~ Stay tuned for future updates on this one! ~
